Overview
At Mem, we are building an AI notes app pioneering a new era of proactive intelligence. We're seeking a UX Designer for a 20-week contract starting mid-February 2025 to help us deliver on our mission of augmenting human intelligence by designing intuitive, delightful interactions that use AI to help you capture, organize, and use knowledge when you need it. From designing fluid note-taking experiences to inventing novel information discovery interfaces, you’ll shape the way people engage with AI on a daily basis.
At Mem, design is fundamental to how we help people better leverage their knowledge and ideas. We believe that thoughtful, detail-oriented design — from subtle animations to carefully considered information architecture — is at the core of creating an exceptional user experience.
As a UX Designer, you will
- Report directly to our CEO and work closely with our engineering team to design and build product experiences across our web, desktop, and iOS apps.
- Help shape our product's future direction by developing strategic plans and contributing to our design roadmap, outlining which features and improvements we'll prioritize.
- Invent novel, best-in-class solutions to ambiguous user problems and interaction challenges.
- Design and prototype end-to-end user experiences that enable integrated, context-aware, and proactive knowledge assistance, including features like collaborative editing, chat, search, and discovery of related information.
- Come up with features and improvements that ship quickly and with high-quality.
- Lead the design refinement process by actively seeking user and stakeholder feedback, clarifying feature requirements, and iterating on designs based on that input.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are implemented with attention to detail and technical feasibility.
You may be a good fit if you
- Have prior experience in designing consumer software products within a fast-paced environment.
- Have a strong portfolio showcasing user-centric design thinking and polished UI craftsmanship.
- Are a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity with the ability to work independently and solve novel interaction design challenges. Prior founder or startup experience is a plus.
- Are passionate about making powerful technology accessible through thoughtful design.
- Have experience designing holistic experiences for multiple platforms.
- Take pride in working on complex projects from conception to successful completion.
- Have experience with AI technologies — whether at work or in personal use.
- Have a meticulous eye for detail.
- Enjoy greenfield problems.
- Love making the impossible possible.
